There are several different types of gutter guards, but not all are equal, the best products available on the market are made of alumiunium mesh and installed over the lower part of the roof, following the roof pitch and securing to the top of the gutter.
Ridge caps cover the apex (ridge), the highest point where two or more tiled roof areas adjoin. Without the ridge caps there would be a gap between these areas; where water would ingress every time it rained.
